Heart Failure Cardiologist - NC

Congestive Heart Failure Directorship position (CHF / LVADS) - Established cardiology practice in western North Carolina seeking top-tier, well trained Non-invasive cardiologist with clinical experience in the field of Advanced Heart Failure (CHF) and Mechanical Circulatory Support.
Proficiency in ECMO, short term mechanical support strategies and pulmonary hypertension are also desirable, although NOT required.
Strongly prefer Medical Director Level candidate to be a strong leader for the team.
Physician should have Heart Failure / CHF training with VAD and should be BC in Advanced Heart Failure and Transplant cardiology.
Candidate with 5-10 years’ experience and proven leadership skills highly desirable. Start soon as possible.
Group has growing LVAD program with 2 advanced HF cardiologists, 2 LVAD surgeons and 3 dedicated HF NPs and a VAD coordinator in group.
Practice has dedicated inpatient service and office space to manage full spectrum of HF patients.
Group has completed Joint Commission Certification for Destination Therapy LVAD care and have had several successful implants to date. Ideal candidate will have exemplary clinical and leadership skills to join dedicated group of providers to continue developing world-class HF program.
Schedule: 3 weeks per month in CHF clinic, cath lab, imaging, etc. 1 week per month CHF inpatient service (rounds, consults, etc) Monday - Sunday.
30+ full time cardiologists in group, including three pediatric cardiologists, and several advanced practitioners.
Leading cardiology group in the region of North Carolina.
Physicians in group participate as board members of the American Society of Echocardiography, and are also members of numerous state and national committees of the American College of Cardiology. Cardiologists are committed to continuously advancing their skills through educational courses, symposia and research. Hospital employed.
Hospital: nationally recognized leader and ranked in top 15 hospitals in US and heart services ranked in nation's top 50 for third consecutive year.
Shared call. No general cardiology night call. The only night call is for VAD with other CHF physicians. Call is minimal - PA/NP take first call and physicians provide backup. Volume is usually very low, it is traditional offsite / pager call. You only have to come in, if the NP/PA can't handle it - which is rare.
Competitive salary based on experience. Heart Failure Director will be paid depending upon experience very high six figures plus high bonuses.
